- 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 oz (57 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 ¾ cup (350 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups (285 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon table salt
- 10 tablespoons (141 g) unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 2 oz (57 g) cream cheese, softened (for frosting)
- 2 cups (250 g) powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for frosting)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- ⅛ teaspoon table salt (for frosting)
- Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and lightly grease a 13×9” (33x23cm) baking pan. Set aside.
- Combine butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar in a bowl and beat until creamy.
- Add eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla; mix until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until combined.
- Spread batter in the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until set. Allow to cool completely.
- For frosting, beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, and salt; mix until combined.
- Spread frosting over cooled bars and add sprinkles if desired.
Notes
Store leftover bars in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
