- 6 Tablespoons Butter, softened (for frosting)
- 8 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
- 3 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 385°F (196°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for about 4 minutes until fluffy.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing for another minute until combined.
- Gently fold in cocoa powder, flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Scoop the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them at least two inches apart.
- Bake for 9 to 10 minutes until slightly soft in the center. Let sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- For frosting, whip softened butter and cream cheese until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth. Thin with milk if desired.
- Once cookies are cool, frost generously with the cream cheese frosting.
Notes
Store frosted cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for best texture. They can last about a week.
