Description

Chocolate Chip Blondies are a cozy, easy-to-bake treat that combines sweet, buttery flavors with gooey chocolate chips, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Melted Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 large Egg Yolk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt (increase to 1/2 teaspoon if using unsalted butter)
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stove. Stir in the brown sugar for about 2 minutes until smooth and fully dissolved.
  3. Let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes, then add the vanilla extract and stir.
  4. Add the egg and egg yolk to the mixture, stirring until well combined and smooth.
  5. Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt until no dry flour remains.
  6. Ensure the dough isn’t too warm before adding the chocolate chips. Fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips, reserving 1/4 cup for the top.
  7. Line an 8 x 8 inch aluminum or metal pan with parchment paper.
  8. Spread the dough evenly in the pan and sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 19 to 26 minutes, taking care not to overbake; the center should appear slightly jiggly.
  10. Allow the blondies to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before cutting into bars. For smoother cuts, place in the freezer for 15 minutes and use a plastic knife. Cut into 9 or 16 bars.

Notes

These blondies taste amazing warm or at room temperature. Pair with vanilla ice cream for an extra special dessert.
